Job summary

Abstra in Colombia is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and scale secure cloud-native applications. You will mentor engineers, shape best practices, and collaborate across backend, frontend and operations teams in a fast-growing nearshore setting.

You’ll implement automation, observability, and resilient deployment pipelines using Python/Go, Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, and OpenTelemetry.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience running high-availability production systems.
• Experience building modular automation and self-service platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and Bash on Linux.
• CI/CD with Jenkins, FluxCD or GitHub Actions.
• IaC with Terraform; cloud: AWS; container orchestration via Kubernetes.
• Strong observability with Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Define repeatable practices for service delivery and governance.
• Join Developer Experience team to improve delivery for customer-facing services.
• Lead design reviews, production readiness and incident management.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to define product metrics and remediation.
• Mentor engineers and shape engineering best practices.
