Job summary

EPAM Systems in Colombia is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive cloud infrastructure strategy. You will design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade platforms on AWS and/or Azure, using Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, and robust monitoring.

You will mentor teams, improve reliability, and align operations with security and compliance, collaborating with multi-national teams across projects.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering roles.
• At least one year in a leadership or team coordination capacity.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (preferably AWS) for designing and supporting cloud solutions.
• Proven ability to maintain high-availability systems for critical business functions.
• Experience in large organizations with complex ecosystems and multiple stakeholders.
• In-depth Kubernetes expertise for containerized apps.
• Background in C# or Java for backend and automation work.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation tools for cloud resource management.
• Experience with GitLab or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Proficient in English at B2+ level.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly available and resilient cloud infrastructure.
• Partner with development and operations teams to improve deployment pipelines and performance.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring processes.
• Promote and enforce CI/CD standards across teams.
• Manage and resolve incidents in live and test environments.
• Maintain and improve infrastructure documentation and procedures.
• Ensure cloud operations meet security and compliance requirements.
• Provide mentorship on DevOps tools and cloud technologies.
• Participate in incident reviews and drive reliability improvements.
• Explore and recommend innovative tools to advance the DevOps environment.
