Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer in Colombia to build secure, scalable data platform capabilities and automate governance controls. You will design and implement automated data quality, lineage, and access controls while delivering secure APIs and enterprise-grade tooling.

You will partner with governance teams and engineers to drive observability, security, and scalable data infra across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/Engineering or STEM field.
• 5+ years of software/data engineering experience.
• 5+ years with Python, SQL, distributed processing, data modeling, and modern data engineering frameworks.
• Strong experience with cloud data platforms, catalogs, metadata, lineage, data quality, and access controls.
• Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Data Lake, Apache Spark, or comparable.
• Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing, environment separation, and production deployment.
• Experience building secure APIs, MCP servers, or tools for enterprise/AI-enabled apps.
• Experience with enterprise identity, RBAC, service accounts, secrets, and least-privilege security.

Responsibilities

• Architect secure, scalable data platform and governance automation capabilities.
• Build automated controls for metadata, ownership, lineage, data quality, access, and policy enforcement.
• Develop secure APIs, MCP tools, and integrations for enterprise/AI-enabled applications.
• Design reusable, configuration-driven patterns for governed data/platform services.
• Implement identity, authz, least-privilege access, auditability, and credential management.
• Build automated validation, testing, deployment, and monitoring across environments.
• Partner with domain experts, PMs, governance teams, and engineers on technical controls.
• Establish observability for platform health, data quality, policy results, and failures.
• Own production-quality code, tests, documentation, and operational guidance.
• Mentor other engineers; guide technical direction across teams.
