Job summary

Solvd, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a cross-functional team modernizing a data platform for a global financial services client.

You’ll work hands-on with Snowflake and dbt, migrate legacy Oracle ETL, and help shape architectural decisions alongside client stakeholders. This role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, collaboration with engineering and business teams, and active participation in client-facing technical discussions.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Snowflake experience focusing on transformation, modeling, and performance.
• Solid data modeling principles and scalable architecture knowledge.
• Practical dbt experience for data transformation workflows.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering, scripting, and automation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT and modern data pipeline development.
• Familiarity with DevOps and containerized environments including Kubernetes.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting for data quality and reconciliation.
• Excellent communication with client stakeholders and US-based teams.
• English proficiency sufficient for technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize data models and transformation workflows using Snowflake and dbt.
• Contribute to scalable data architecture from raw to semantic layers.
• Support modernization of Oracle-based ETL and reporting processes.
• Investigate and address data quality, performance, and reconciliation challenges.
• Develop data processing and automation solutions using Python.
• Participate in solution design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Support DevOps activities including deployment and operations of the data platform.
• Take ownership of assigned components and deliverables within the team.
• Engage in client-facing technical discussions and meetings.
