Job summary

Publicis Groupe’s Publicis Global Delivery (PGD) is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer focusing on AI in Bogotá. You will design and operate RESTful APIs and services, collaborating with data science and ML teams to build scalable backend systems.

You will develop in Python with FastAPI/Flask/Django, deploy in cloud environments, and leverage Docker/Kubernetes, vector search, and caching to deliver robust AI-enabled solutions. 1–3 years’ experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 1-3 years professional software engineering experience delivering production-grade back-end services in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs or GraphQL APIs.
• Develop backend services in Python using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Handle deployment, monitoring, and maintenance in cloud/server environments (CI/CD, logs, metrics, tracing).
• Work with data and persistence layers (PostgreSQL/MySQL, indexing, query optimization).
• Familiarity with vector search platforms (ChromaDB, Pinecone, Qdrant) and caching (Redis).
• Apply solid software design principles and build maintainable microservices.
• Follow testing practices (unit/integration tests, contract testing).
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization; IaC is a plus.
• Knowledge of JSON and distributed-systems integration; XML familiarity is a plus.
