EPAM Systems in Colombia is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to drive the automation testing strategy and mentor a team toward high-quality outcomes. You will shape testing approaches and ensure alignment with modern development workflows.

You will work with international teams, expand the Katalon Studio and Appium frameworks, author detailed test cases, and deliver clear reports to stakeholders. The role requires strong English communication (B2+), hands-on automation in fast-paced Agile

Formación

• 3+ years of hands-on automation engineering experience.
• Automation testing integrated with DevOps pipelines.
• Applied implementation of automation using Katalon Studio and Appium.
• Practical involvement in unit testing and UX testing activities.
• Working understanding of TDD and BDD frameworks for structured test creation.
• Experience operating within fast-paced Agile environments.
• Broad knowledge of Katalon, Bitbucket, GitLab, TeamCity, and Source Tree.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate test automation efforts.
• Skill in shaping and communicating the test strategy to the automation team.
• Capability to ensure the team consistently adheres to standard automation processes.
• Confident English communication at B2 level or higher, in both written and spoken forms.

• Expand the existing Katalon Studio framework to broaden its capabilities.
• Author detailed test cases covering critical functional areas and scenarios.
• Suggest efficient solutions to testing challenges and process improvements.
• Run test cases and track their results across execution cycles.
• Produce user-friendly test reports to provide stakeholders with clear visibility.
• Connect Katalon automation reports with Polarion to enable centralized tracking.
• Validate custom keywords used inside automation frameworks.
• Deploy the setup required for smooth automation operations.
• Define clear test processes that the team follows in a consistent manner.
• Outline roles and responsibilities within the automation team.
• Educate team members on automation frameworks and recommended best practices.
• Guide and support the team throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Enable the handover of automation work and knowledge to the wider team.

Requirements

• No less than 3 years of hands-on professional experience in automation engineering
• Background in automation testing integrated with DevOps pipelines
• Applied implementation of automation using Katalon Studio and Appium
• Practical involvement in unit testing and UX testing activities
• Working understanding of TDD and BDD frameworks for structured test creation
• Experience operating within fast-paced Agile environments
• Broad knowledge of Katalon, Bitbucket, GitLab, TeamCity, and Source Tree
• Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate test automation efforts
• Skill in shaping and communicating the test strategy to the automation team
• Capability to ensure the team consistently adheres to standard automation processes

Nice to have

• Applied experience with CI/CD pipelines for automating build, test, and deployment cycles
• Awareness of Atlassian Jira for tracking test activities and defects
• Practical exposure to GUI testing across various platforms and applications
• Working knowledge of Postman for API testing and validation
• Background in web service and API test automation activities
