Job summary

Thea Career Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Structural Designer to join our engineering team.

You will prepare precise calculations, load path layouts, and construction drawings for residential and commercial projects, with a focus on wood-frame assemblies and reinforced concrete elements. You will use AutoCAD and Revit to develop detailed plans, coordinate with project teams, and ensure compliance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and NDS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 2 to 5+ years of structural design experience with a proven track record in wood and concrete.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software (Enercalc, RISA, WoodWorks, or RAM).
• EIT preferred; SE/PE track is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations for gravity, lateral, foundation, and retaining systems.
• Design wood-frame assemblies (shear walls, joists, beams) and reinforced concrete elements (foundations, slabs, columns).
• Develop detailed structural plans, sections, and framing details using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, and project leads to ensure constructability.
• Ensure strict compliance with building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, and NDS.

Job Requirements

Desirable knowledge & skills:

• Experience: 2 to 5+ years of structural design experience with a proven track record in wood and concrete.
