Briefcase Legal Support, LLC seeks an experienced Legal Assistant to support U.S. personal injury litigation on a remote, independent contractor basis. The role focuses on direct attorney support, case management, and timely document handling with a client-facing interface.

The candidate will work with U.S.-based attorneys, overlapping hours, and a fast-paced environment. Strong English/Spanish proficiency and experience with discovery, depositions, and trial prep are essential.

Formación

• Previous experience working remotely for a U.S.-based law firm.
• Experience handling U.S. personal injury cases.
• Personal injury litigation experience is required.
• Experience supporting attorneys with active U.S. litigation matters.
• Experience with U.S. plaintiff personal injury law.
• Experience handling motor vehicle accident cases.
• Experience with U.S. insurance claims and personal injury documentation.
• Experience assisting with discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Working knowledge of U.S. personal injury litigation procedures and terminology.
• Familiarity with pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, and litigation deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word.
• Ability to use legal case management systems and other legal technology.
• Business-fluent English and Spanish.
• Available during U.S. working hours.

Responsabilidades

• Provide administrative and case support to attorneys handling personal injury matters.
• Support cases through active litigation.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and case materials.
• Assist with discovery and track discovery requests and responses.
• Monitor case deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other important dates.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding case-related matters.
• Communicate with attorneys, clients, insurance companies, medical providers, opposing counsel, and other parties as needed.
• Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial.
• Review case information and ensure required documentation is obtained and properly maintained.
• Accurately enter and update case information in the firm's case management system.
• Follow established case-management procedures and workflows.
• Handle confidential client and case information appropriately.
• Perform other legal support duties as assigned.
