Hire Hangar, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Tax Analyst to support US federal and multi-state tax compliance from a fully remote team.

This role requires strong knowledge of ASC 740, tax provision processes, and experience with corporate tax filings. You will collaborate with Finance and adapt to deadlines across jurisdictions.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and preferably CPA candidacy, with proven remote-work skills using Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of US federal and multi-state tax law.
• Experience with tax return preparation and compliance in a corporate/public accounting setting.
• Familiarity with ASC 740 and basic tax accounting concepts.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA licensure preferred; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal English communication with a professional and precise approach.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Must have prior remote work experience and familiarity with Slack/Zoom/Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file US federal, state, and local tax returns and schedules.
• Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision process.
• Research and document tax issues under US tax law.
• Support multi-state nexus and sales tax compliance.
• Maintain and reconcile tax-related accounts in the general ledger.
• Respond to tax notices, audits, and information requests.
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure accuracy of tax data and disclosures.
• Monitor changes in US tax legislation affecting compliance.
