Job summary

Howard Financial is seeking a junior Bookkeeper to join our accounting team and support day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of US clients. This is a junior position, with mentorship from Accountants and Senior Accountants who review your work and help you grow.

You will record transactions in QuickBooks Online, reconcile accounts, process payables and receivables, and assist with the month-end close. A degree in accounting and solid fundamentals, plus hands-on QuickBooks experience and strong

Qualifications

• Solid accounting fundamentals: double-entry, accruals, reconciliations and the basics of the month-end close.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Online preferred).
• Good written and spoken English to work with US clients and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Record and categorize daily transactions accurately in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile bank, credit card and loan accounts on a monthly basis.
• Process and track accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare journal entries for review, including accruals and adjustments.
• Support the month-end close by preparing schedules and flagging discrepancies.
• Keep client files and supporting documentation organized and up to date.
• Prepare basic financial reports (P&L, balance sheet) for review by the Accounting team.
• Communicate with clients to request missing information or clarify transactions.
• Follow internal processes and checklists, and suggest improvements when you see them.
