Canonical is a pioneering open source company behind Ubuntu, hiring an engineering manager to lead remote teams across regions. You will champion high‑quality microservices, guide career growth, and align delivery with strategy.

This role focuses on Linux, virtualization, storage and networking, with code and architectural reviews, global collaboration, and travel of 4–6 weeks per year. You will grow engineers and influence culture.

Formación

• Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM or similar degree.
• Experience leading successful, collaborative engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of Linux and related technologies, including virtualization, storage and networking.
• Ability to lead code and architectural reviews and influence technical delivery.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a team of remote engineers
• Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
• Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
• Advocate and advance modern software development practices
• Participate in the engineering process through code and architectural review
• Engage with Canonical, the open source community and partners
• Work from home with global travel for 4 to 6 weeks per year for internal and external events
