Job summary

Somewhere is seeking a Director of Accounting to own the end-to-end accounting function across DTC subscriptions, e-commerce, and retail channels. The role oversees and optimizes accounts payable/receivable, cost accounting, and BOM logic, while coordinating with fractional bookkeeping teams and FP&A support.

The ideal candidate will lead multi-channel financial operations, drive accurate monthly closes, and ensure robust reporting for rapid growth in a multi-channel consumer products

Qualifications

• Strong accounting background in consumer products / goods business.
• Extensive experience with e-commerce accounting mechanisms including subscriptions.
• Direct experience with traditional retail channels and big-box retailers.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online as core engine.
• Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems for manufacturing and warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting function end-to-end and be the primary owner of accounting processes.
• Oversee both e-commerce and traditional retail accounting operations.
• Manage monthly close and financial reporting processes.
• Coordinate with external fractional partners and FP&A resources.
• Oversee cost accounting, BOM setup, and cost-per-unit analysis.
• Monitor AR and resolve invoice delivery issues across systems.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition across multi-channel flows.
