Paired is a prominent staffing and recruiting agency connecting remote talent with leading US-based companies. We seek a Criminal Defense Paralegal to support attorneys in handling a diverse range of cases from a remote location.

The candidate will assist with trial prep, drafting pleadings, reviewing evidence, and maintaining organized case files, while communicating effectively with clients and experts. English fluency and knowledge of US criminal law are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in a legal setting is required.
• 2-3 years paralegal experience, criminal defense desirable.
• Solid understanding of criminal law and relevant principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and legal research tools.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluency in English required.
• Familiarity with US criminal law (state and federal).
• At least 1 year in a law office or legal environment; strong writing/drafting skills.
• Experience with CLIO Manage is a plus.
• Strong customer service and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience with case management software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with trial prep by organizing files and researching cases.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and client correspondence for criminal defense matters.
• Review and summarize evidence, police reports, and witness statements.
• Maintain an organized case management system and ensure proper filing.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to streamline progress.
• Coordinate exhibits and materials to support trial preparations.
• Conduct legal research to aid case development and strategy.
• Support administrative tasks including billing and case management.
