Abbott in Bogotá, Colombia, invites a QA Tester to join the Medical Devices division. This role ensures quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance of digital solutions in a regulated environment, validating changes, integrations, and configurations that support operations and compliance.

The position collaborates with R&D, Operations, Quality, Clinical, and Regulatory Affairs to drive product development and quality improvements.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience authoring and executing software test cases and validation activities.
• Experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Experience creating test plans, test scripts, and test documentation.
• Knowledge of Design Controls, Verification & Validation processes, and software development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and stakeholders.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).

Responsabilidades

• Execute and support timely completion of Quality Engineering deliverables (manual test plans, test scripts, automated testing, test reports).
• Support design and development of test automation frameworks for web and OTA apps.
• Support execution of Quality Plans and V&V testing activities.
• Participate in root-cause investigations with cross-functional teams.
• Support product Risk Management and Design Verification/Validation activities.
• Contribute to audits, including documentation and responses.
• Help define measurable, verifiable customer and product requirements.
• Create and manage testing schedules and work plans for timely deliverables.
• Review CRs, test protocols, and results from other teams.
• Participate in reviews of system/software requirements and designs using static testing and TDD.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality, Clinical, Regulatory Affairs.
• Ensure DHF content integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Help improve software quality processes and testing tools.

The Opportunity

This position is based in Bogotá, Colombia, supporting Abbott's Medical Devices division with a global scope. The QA Tester will support Digital Delivery initiatives by ensuring the quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance of digital solutions used within a regulated medical device environment. This role plays a critical part in validating system changes, integrations, and configurations that support business operations, quality, and compliance objectives.

What You'll Do

• Execute and support the timely completion of Quality Engineering deliverables, including manual test plans, test scripts, automated testing activities, and test reports.
• Support the design and development of test automation frameworks for web and OTA applications.
• Support the execution of Quality Plans and Verification & Validation (V&V) testing activities.
• Participate in root-cause investigations and resolution activities in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Support product Risk Management and Design Verification and Validation activities.
• Contribute to internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and responses.
• Support the definition of measurable, verifiable customer and product requirements.
• Create and manage testing schedules and work plans while ensuring timely completion of assigned deliverables.
• Review Document Change Requests, test protocols, and test results provided by other functional teams.
• Participate in reviews of system and software requirements, software and firmware designs, and code inspections using static testing and TDD practices.
• Collaborate with R&D Engineering, Operations, Quality, Clinical, and Regulatory Affairs teams to support product development and compliance efforts.
• Ensure Design History File (DHF) content integrity and compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards.
• Help improve software quality processes and testing tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience authoring and executing software test cases and validation activities.
• Experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Experience creating test plans, test scripts, and test documentation.
• Knowledge of Design Controls, Verification & Validation processes, and software development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and stakeholders.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal), with the ability to effectively communicate with global teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in the medical device industry.
• Experience supporting regulated environments and quality management systems.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and automated testing solutions.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), static testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Experience working with Design History Files (DHF) and regulatory compliance requirements.
