As a Wizeline Principal Product Designer, you will lead the design strategy for a high-priority initiative that will expand how we deliver value to our audiences through Opinion content.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a new product experience from inception to launch, establishing patterns and frameworks that could transform subscription products across our portfolio.

As Principal Product Designer, you will:

• Lead the design vision and strategy for a new subscription-based Opinion product.
• Design multi-tier access experiences (free, premium, upsell) that balance user needs and business goals.
• Create cohesive experiences across web, newsletters, subscription flows, and content delivery systems.
• Partner with senior executives to influence product strategy and guide high-level decisions.
• Align cross-functional teams (CMS, platforms, commerce, editorial) around a unified design vision.
• Balance speed-to-market with long-term design scalability.
• Help define visual identity and branding that distinguishes this product while respecting our company’s broader ecosystem.
• Rapidly prototype and validate concepts with users and stakeholders.
• Document frameworks and patterns that extend beyond your work, ensuring long-lasting impact.
• This role reports to a Sr. Director or VP within the Design & Research organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of product design experience, including Principal-level leadership.
• Expertise in subscription products, content platforms, and multi-tier digital experiences.
• Proven success designing for monetization, conversion, and retention.
• Experience with editorial and publishing platforms, especially newsletters and email products.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to align executives and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to ship quickly in high-stakes environments.
• Commitment to accessibility and inclusive design.
• Degree in Design, HCI, or related field (advanced degree a plus).

Nice to Have

• Experience with news, media, or publishing at scale.
• Background in opinion or editorial-driven content products.
• Track record in “product-in-product” launches or sub-brands.
• Familiarity with our company’s products and portfolio.
• Knowledge of newsletter/email deployment systems.
• Experience with international audiences and modern CMS workflows.
