Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a part-time Data Engineering and Infrastructure Lead to audit AWS architecture, CI/CD processes, and ETL decisions in an advisory capacity. This role weighs managed tooling against custom builds, reviews SageMaker-based MLOps pipelines, and mentors the team on engineering standards.

Evaluate AI-assisted development workflows and provide an early technical opinion on data ingestion and infrastructure practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, ECR, RDS, S3, SageMaker, VPC).
• Fluency with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
• Proven ability to design or audit CI/CD pipelines and SDLC governance.
• Strong data engineering depth for ETL/ingestion architecture evaluation.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows like Claude Code.

Responsibilities

• Audit AWS architecture across live apps (ECS/ECR, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFront).
• Review CI/CD lifecycle and recommend environment separation and release gating.
• Assess Claude Code usage for quality, cost, and governance.
• Advise on ETL/ELT tooling vs custom builds.
• Mentor infra build team and define technical direction.
• Report findings and risk to leadership with remediation plans.
