Job summary

Backblaze is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain open source AI integrations and frameworks for Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage. You will work on production‑quality open source assets and end‑to‑end examples that demonstrate AI workflow integration with cloud storage.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, contribute to public repositories, and continuously learn emergent AI frameworks and APIs as they mature.

Qualifications

• Contributed to open source projects in one or more languages.
• Experience owning and maintaining public repositories with external users.
• Understanding of AI workflows, including data ingestion, preprocessing, inference.
• Production-quality code with strong testing and documentation practices.
• Strong written communication for developer experience and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Use AI coding agents to build coding harnesses for accelerated development, testing, and maintenance of apps, SDKs, notebooks, and reference implementations.
• Implement and maintain open source AI integrations, frameworks and example apps using Python, TypeScript, Go, and Rust.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation while validating correctness, security, and performance.
• Contribute to open source projects through code contributions, issue triage, reviews, and ongoing maintenance.
• Ensure all open source assets meet high standards for testing, documentation, reproducibility, and developer usability.
• Maintain clean, well-structured GitHub repositories intended for external adoption and community contribution.
• Collaborate with Product and QA to reflect real customer AI workflows and Backblaze B2 usage patterns.
