Eurofins Scientific is seeking an experienced Application Support & Development engineer to join our international team in Bogotá. You will act as the Level 3 escalation point for complex production issues, analyze and resolve problems across legacy VB6, .NET Core, and MS SQL platforms, and conduct root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.

You will collaborate with global stakeholders, mentor L1/L2 teams, and support the development and maintenance of .NET/C# applications, Crystal Reports/SSRS

Formación

• 3 years to 5 years of hands‑on experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting software solutions using VB6 with MS SQL and .NET Core
• Experience across the full SDLC including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Practical exposure to Agile/Scrum and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Working knowledge of Web app development using .NET Core (6/7/8), C#, Asp.net Core, MVC, Web API, Postman.
• Experience using Azure DevOps.

• Application Support & Incident Management
  • Act asLevel 3 escalation pointfor complex production issues, providing expert support to L1 and L2 teams.
  • Analyz and resolveapplications, databases, and report issuesacross legacy and .NET platforms.

• Application Development & Maintenance
  • Maintain and enhanced legacy VB6 applications, ensuring continued reliability and performance.
  • Support development and enhancement of .NET / C# applications, including bug fixes and minor feature additions.
  • Debug legacy and modern codebase to resolve defects and optimize business logic.
  • Follow best programming practices, including Code quality standards, Peer reviews, Documentation, Definition of Done (DoD)
  • Support application upgrades, patches, and minor enhancements in production environments.
• Database & Reporting Support
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshotSQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and viewson MS SQL Server.
  • Support enterprise reporting solutions usingCrystal Reports and SSRS, including Fixing report failures, Performance tuning, Enhancing report reliability
  • Assist withdata validation, data corrections, and impact analysisin production systems.
  • Partner with business users to ensure reporting accuracy and data consistency.

• Collaboration, Mentoring & Knowledge Management
  • Work closely withbusiness users, development teams, and global stakeholdersin an international environment.
  • Providetechnical guidance and mentoringto L1 and L2 support engineers.
  • Create and maintain: Technical documentation, SOPs, Knowledge Base (KB) articles
  • Participate actively incode reviews, solution design, and technical discussions.

• 3 years to 5 years of hands‑on experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting software solutions using VB6 with MS SQL and .NET Core
• Extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Practical exposure to working in an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver stable and high‑quality solutions.
• Good understanding of object‑oriented programming (OOP); able to solve technical problems
• Working knowledge of Web application development using .NET Core (6/7/8), C#, Asp.net Core, MVC, Web API, Postman.
• Experience with usage of Azure DevOps
