Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Medical Billing Payment Posting Specialist to ensure accurate posting of insurance payments, resolutions of discrepancies, and daily cash reconciliation. The role supports multiple departments and requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional with experience in medical payments.

You will manage EOBs/ERAs, collaborate with insurers, and uphold productivity goals while maintaining high accuracy in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical payment posting experience.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace with strong Excel knowledge.
• In-depth knowledge of how health insurance works.
• Extremely organized with high attention to detail.
• Clear understanding of ERAs, EOBs, EFTs and lockbox functions.

Responsibilities

• Post insurance EOBs, ERAs, and daily lockbox deposits.
• Maintain timely posting of payments and daily cash reconciliation.
• Audit payment history for accuracy.
• Meet daily/weekly/monthly productivity goals.
• Call insurance companies for missing explanations of benefits.
• Track missing payments for reprocessing.
• Send missing W9s for payment processing.
• Own and drive research of inaccurate payments.
• Review work and monitor credit balances.
• Assist staff across departments with payment-related questions/issues.
