Beijing Foreign Enterprise Management Consultants Co.,Ltd. in Bogotá, Colombia seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to support the LATAM region. You will draft and negotiate contracts, advise on compliance, and help manage cross-border regulatory risks.

The role covers data protection, IP enforcement, and employment matters, with close collaboration across business lines and external law firms. Fluent English and native Spanish are required, with at least five years in law firms or in-house.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Law with Colombian bar admission.
• Minimum 5 years of law firm or in-house legal experience; 2+ years in tech/internet is a plus.
• Fluent English and native Spanish required; CEFR B2 or above.

Responsabilidades

• Intellectual property protection: manage trademark registration and IP disputes across LATAM.

We are hiring! Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Legal Counsel to join our team in Bogotá, Colombia.

As a trusted business partner, you will provide comprehensive legal support for the Latin American region, playing a critical role in daily operations, commercial contracts, compliance management, and cross-border risk control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts (service, distribution, channel partnerships, and NDAs) across LATAM.


• Compliance & Regulatory Affairs: Monitor and interpret data protection regulations (such as Ley 1581 de 2012 in Colombia and regional frameworks) and localize privacy policies and terms of service.


• Intellectual Property Protection: Manage trademark registration, enforcement, and handle IP disputes across LATAM jurisdictions.


• Dispute Resolution: Handle commercial/labor disputes and oversee local external law firms.


• Legal Advisory: Provide daily legal support to business lines, assess new business models, and assist HR with employment matters.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

• Bachelor’s degree in Law with Colombian bar admission (Abogado inscrito en la Corte Suprema de Justicia de Colombia).


• Minimum 5 years of law firm or in-house legal experience, with at least 2 years in the tech/internet industry.


• Native Spanish speaker with fluent English (written and spoken, CEFR B2 or above).


• Strong expertise in Colombian contract law, data protection (Ley 1581), IP, and labor law, alongside a solid grasp of the LATAM business environment.


• Preferred: Experience in cloud computing, SaaS, or digital content services; familiarity with GDPR intersection with LATAM laws.
