Athenaworks is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Analytics & Reporting to lead a six-engineer App team and deliver customer-facing data APIs and analytics features. You will partner with product, design, and data engineering, while remaining hands-on for architecture and reviews.

You will shape the Analytics product, drive data pipelines migration, and modernize the backend stack toward Kotlin with Kubernetes on AWS. Excellent English and cross-team collaboration are required.

Formación

• 7+ years of software engineering with deep JVM backend expertise (Kotlin preferred).
• 2+ years leading an engineering team with people responsibilities while staying hands-on.
• Experience designing, operating, and evolving microservices in production (Kubernetes, AWS, observability, SLOs, incident management).
• Strong SQL and analytical data modeling skills; own datasets behind customer reports.
• Experience designing RESTful architectures serving external customers at scale.
• Frontend fluency (React, TypeScript) to lead frontend engineers.
• Experience navigating legacy systems and migrations toward modernization.
• Professional working English and collaboration across a remote, distributed organization.

• Customer reporting — QuickSight reports and gold-layer datasets feeding them.
