Job summary

NielsenIQ is seeking a Principal Research Scientist – AI & Data Science in Bogotá to lead cutting-edge research, develop innovative ML/AI methodologies, and drive deployment across NIQ products and processes. You will work within a global R&D team, tackling challenging problems with a scientist’s curiosity and a passion for innovation.

The role emphasizes rigorous experimentation, collaboration with data teams, and producing high-quality technical documentation and publications.

Qualifications

• PhD required with outstanding analytical expertise and strong technical skills.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Domain knowledge across statistics, ML/DL, time-series, and AI methods.
• Proficiency in Python without AI assistance; experience with large-scale databases and ML tooling.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new methodologies and prototype solutions in ML/AI.
• Lead all phases of R&D projects from concept to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with operations, data scientists, and stakeholders across the company.
• Produce publication-level documentation of methodologies and best practices.
• Engage with stakeholders on objectives, scope, data exchange, and outcomes.
• Contribute to multiple projects concurrently.
