Job summary

Arup in Bogotá, Colombia seeks a Senior Environmental Consultant to lead EIA scopes and ensure compliance with international E&S standards across projects in Colombia and the Americas West + LATAM. You will collaborate with global teams and contribute to sustainable infrastructure through expertise in ESIA/ESMP/ESMS and stakeholder engagement.

The role requires guiding junior staff, mentoring, and supporting business development initiatives while delivering high-quality environmental outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related environmental consulting profession.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience leading Environmental Impact Assessments in Toll Road/Concessioned projects in Colombia.
• Experience with multilateral agencies IFC, IDB, CAF etc.
• Experience in developing, reviewing or implementing ESIA/ESMP/ESMS.
• Experience managing environmental and social impacts and risks in line with international standards (IFC, Equator Principles) on construction sites or operational assets.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Environmental Impact Assessment consultancy scopes with local permitting requirements while applying international E&S standards.
• Produce and review reports related to E&S Due Diligence and monitoring in Colombia and Latin America.
• Consult with local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of projects.
• Attend client meetings to address environmental issues.
• Project lead and meet client expectations, manage collaborators, deliver quality outcomes.
• Coordinate site visits and manage partners (clients, communities, etc.).
• Support business development by assisting in responding to RFPs and speaking at industry conferences.
