CPL Aromas is seeking a Lab Technician to carry out weighing and fragrance sample preparation in line with established procedures, ensuring timely delivery while upholding quality and H&S standards. The role involves handling raw materials, coordinating with Production and Procurement, and maintaining lab compliance.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (technical chemistry preferred) and at least 6 months in lab or production settings, with attention to detail and teamwork.

Formación

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Technical degree in Chemistry or related field.

Responsabilidades

  • Receive sample manufacturing requests and process per specifications.
  • Perform weighing using the system according to procedures.
  • Verify calibration requirements for equipment weekly.
  • Monitor raw material inventory and ensure QC-approved materials.
  • Coordinate material purchases to ensure availability.
  • Maintain laboratory materials within their validity period.
  • Disposal of expired materials following CPL quality rules.
  • Provide weekly reports on laboratory activities and progress to Area Coordinator.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab and work area.
  • Adhere to laboratory procedures and safety guidelines.

Job Purpose

Carry out the weighing and manufacturing process of fragrance and base samples in compliance with established procedures, ensuring timely delivery according to internal customer requirements while maintaining quality standards and Health & Safety (H&S) requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Receive sample manufacturing requests from Evaluation, Applications, Quality Control, Perfumers, Regulatory Affairs, and Production, and process them according to established specifications.
  • Perform the weighing process in accordance with the company’s procedures using the system.
  • Verify on a weekly basis that calibration requirements for assigned equipment are up to date and complied with.
  • Monitor raw material inventory, ensuring that all materials to be used have a valid Quality Control approval status to guarantee the suitability of fragrances, bases, and solutions.
  • Timely communicate the need to purchase raw materials from both the Colombia palette and the global palette, submitting the corresponding request to Production or
  • Procurement as appropriate, to ensure material availability.
  • Maintain laboratory raw materials within their validity period by coordinating any required re-testing activities.
  • Conduct a monthly review and disposal of expired raw materials in accordance with CPL quality requirements.
  • Provide a weekly report on laboratory activities and work progress to the Area Coordinator.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and work area.
  • Comply with laboratory procedures and standards.
  • Adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Roles and Responsibilities Matrix.
  • Perform any additional related or complementary duties assigned according to the nature of the position and in compliance with the employment contract.
Skills And Attributes Required
Education
  • Minimum: High School Diploma.
  • Preferred: Technical degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Training
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in laboratories or production environments.
