Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Java Developer to join our backend team. You will build and maintain Java services, implement REST APIs, and contribute to microservices architecture.

You should have at least 2 years of Java experience, familiarity with Spring Boot, MySQL, and modern testing and CI/CD practices. Collaborate with product and QA, work across a distributed team, and apply secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical Java experience.
• Strong understanding of REST API design and best practices.
• Experience with microservices and multi-node architectures.
• Knowledge of MySQL or relational databases and query tuning.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git-driven workflows, and testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build, engineer, and sustain backend services written in Java.
• Improve REST APIs powering mobile app functionality and external integrations.
• Work with MySQL schemas, queries, and performance tuning.
• Contribute to backend/microservices architecture for scale and maintainability.
• Write unit and integration tests, fix bugs, and optimize performance in prod environments.
• Review peers' code, participate in design discussions, and estimate effort.
