BD is seeking a cost accountant to support the plant's financial operations in Heredia. You will manage budgeting, standard costing, variances, and inventory controls while preparing monthly and annual financial reports for management.

The role requires 3+ years of accounting/finance experience, a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, advanced Excel skills, and SAP experience is preferred. English fluency is expected, with Lean/Six Sigma knowledge a plus.

• Cost Accounting, General Accounting, and Finance knowledge are required.
• Advanced Excel skills are vital.
• ERP experience; SAP experience is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Support business partners in the overall management of the operations financials, including budgeting, projections, and monthly actuals; focus on BOM, routing, standard costing, variances, labor, OH, inventory and capital.
• Prepare, analyze and report monthly and annual financials to management.
• End-to-end support of fixed and variable operating budgets for the facility.
• Perform monthly balance sheet review and reconciliation.
• Assist and challenge teams with cost improvements, goals, and monthly forecasts.
• Support internal and external audits at the facility, including reviewing control procedures.
• Assist and report results of annual physical inventory.
• Document relevant information with critical financial roles of the plant.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support business partners in the overall management of the operations financials, specifically in the annual Budget, quarterly Projection, and monthly actual processes. Key areas include Bill of Material and Route builds for standard costing, material variances, labor & indirect expenses, labor and OH rate constructions, inventory, and capital.
• Responsible for preparing, analyzing and reporting monthly and annual financials to relevant levels of management.
• End to end support of Fixed and Variable operating budget for the facility.
• Perform monthly balance sheet review and reconciliation.
• Assist and challenge teams with compiling cost improvements, team goals, and monthly forecasts.
• Support both internal and external audits performed at the facility, including reviewing and supporting control procedures.
• Assist and report results of annual physical inventory.

Project-Related Responsibilities

• Where applicable, support operational improvements, maintain and enhance processes and controls, and take ownership of new processes.
• Document relevant information with critical financial roles of the plant.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to improve controls and influence decisions through accounting knowledge and data driven financial analysis
• Cost Accounting, General Accounting, and Finance knowledge are all required
• Advanced Excel skills are vital
• ERP experience is vital; SAP experience is preferred

Education and/or Experience

• Requires 3+ years of relevant professional accounting and/or finance experience, including product costing, manufacturing variances and inventory control experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance a plus for this level; required to move up in organization
• Proven track record of serving as an effective team member in a large organization.
• English Advanced

Additional Desirable Qualifications

• CPA/CMA/MBA a plus
• Background in lean manufacturing/six sigma a plus
