WSP is seeking an Intermediate Project Controls Analyst to support planning, monitoring, forecasting, and performance management of engineering and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with Project Managers, Project Controls teams, Finance, and technical disciplines to provide accurate project reporting and data-driven insights.

The role focuses on schedule management, cost analysis, and KPIs to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while adhering to governance

Formación

• 4-8 years of progressive experience in project controls or cost controls in consulting, engineering, or construction.
• Strong proficiency in Oracle Financial tools, Excel, forecasting, and financial analysis including variance analysis.
• Experience with MS Project and Primavera P6; ERP or project financial systems experience is a strong asset.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work with senior project team members.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using scheduling tools and methodologies.
• Monitor project progress against baselines and identify schedule variances.
• Support monthly project forecasting and financial performance reviews.
• Prepare periodic project performance reports and dashboards.

Intermediate Project Controls Analyst

About the Role

WSP is seeking an Intermediate Project Controls Analyst to support the planning, monitoring, forecasting, and performance management of engineering and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with established project controls standards.

This position works closely with Project Managers, Project Controls teams, Finance, and technical disciplines to provide accurate project reporting, schedule management, cost analysis, forecasting, and performance insights.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Scheduling

• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using approved scheduling tools and methodologies.
• Monitor project progress against established baselines and identify schedule variances.
• Support resource planning and workload forecasting activities.
• Assist project teams in maintaining schedule integrity and data quality.

Cost Management & Forecasting

• Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, and expenditures.
• Support monthly project forecasting and financial performance reviews.
• Analyze cost trends and identify risks, variances, and opportunities.
• Assist with earned value analysis and project performance measurements where applicable.

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Prepare periodic project performance reports and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain project control metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Analyze project data and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
• Support project risk identification and mitigation activities.
• Monitor the impact of project changes on schedule, cost, and resources.
• Maintain project change logs and related documentation.

Stakeholder Support

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Discipline Leads, Finance teams, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in project review meetings and provide project controls recommendations.
• Support the implementation of project controls best practices across project teams.

Qualifications

Education

Diploma or degree in Project Management, Business, Finance, Data Science, or a related discipline

The Skills That Set You Apart

4-8 years of progressive experience in project controls or cost controls within consulting, engineering, or construction environments

Strong proficiency in Oracle Financial tools, Excel, forecasting, and financial analysis, including variance analysis

Experience with MS Project and/or Primavera P6; ERP or project financial systems experience is a strong asset

Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and confidence working with senior project team members.

• Experience supporting large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, AACE, or equivalent are considered an asset.
