Job summary

Clara, the fastest-growing fintech in Latin America, seeks a Forward-deployed Engineer to sit at the intersection of Product Engineering and GTM, embedded with partners to ship integrations quickly. You’ll own the full integration lifecycle from qualification to handoff, write real code, and help shape the integration framework while coordinating with partner technical teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software development experience, with hands-on exposure to API integrations, webhooks, and data mapping
• Deep fluency in integration patterns: REST, event-driven architectures, OAuth/token management, idempotency
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (preferably Java) and comfort across multiple systems
• Experience working directly with external partners or customers in a technical capacity, owning the relationship

Responsibilities

• Own the full integration lifecycle for partners and customers who need hands-on delivery support, qualification, scoping, build, and handoff
• Run Phase 0 qualification assessments — mapping systems, data flows, risk surface, and build approach
• Build and configure integration connectors, data mappings, and partner adapters using Clara’s integration framework and shared libraries
• Coordinate directly with partner technical teams throughout the build, acting as the primary technical point of contact
• Partner with Platform/API squads to leverage core primitives (webhooks, auth patterns, event contracts) and flag reuse opportunities
• Ensure every integration meets Clara’s standards: idempotency, observability, secrets management, data minimization, and sandbox testing
• Drive clean handoffs — delivering runbooks, dashboards, on-call assignments, and support playbooks before marking an integration as done
• Feed learnings back into the platform: identify patterns that should become shared libraries or configuration
