AgileEngine, LLC. in Manizales, Colombia, is seeking an Elixir Engineer to build, maintain, and improve a growing software platform as an embedded member of the team.

You will collaborate with product managers to translate user problems into solid technical solutions, own development from requirements to delivery, work with PostgreSQL and APIs, and write reliable, tested production code in a small, distributed engineering setup.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Elixir and/or Erlang.
• Strong understanding of functional programming principles.
• Professional experience building and maintaining production web applications.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience designing, consuming, or maintaining APIs and service integrations.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and modern development practices.
• Ability to independently own and deliver engineering tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable working across different areas of a product and with product managers.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve the software platform using Elixir.
• Work across different areas of the application as part of a small engineering team.
• Collaborate with product managers to understand user problems and translate them into technical solutions.
• Take ownership of development work from requirements through delivery.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal and external services and APIs.
• Work with PostgreSQL and the data layer.
• Write reliable, maintainable, well-tested production code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the application.
• Contribute to the platform's evolution and engineering practices as the product grows.
