Vercel is hiring a Director of Forward Deployed Engineering to build and lead the FDE and Professional Services function. You will embed with strategic customers to design, build, and ship production apps using Next.js, AI SDK, and v0, from prototype to production rollout.

This in-person (hybrid) role requires base in San Francisco, Austin, or New York with three days in office weekly. You will define engagement models, delivery excellence, and a scalable services capability while partnering

Formación

• 10+ years in software engineering or delivery roles, 5+ years leading customer-facing teams.
• Experience building a team or service line from zero with hiring and operating models.
• Strong web tech background including modern JS stack and cloud infra.
• Experience deploying or building with LLM-powered applications and understanding product impact.
• Commercial acumen: scoped, priced, and delivered technical engagements for enterprise.

Responsabilidades

• Build, lead, and develop the Forward Deployed Engineering team with hiring standards and career growth.
• Define engagement models: scoping, staffing, sequencing, and account qualification.
• Own delivery excellence from discovery to production deployment and stabilization.
• Establish the professional services commercial model: packaging, pricing, capacity planning.
• Stay hands-on on architecture reviews, system design, and critical problem solving.
• Define handoff protocols with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and partners.
• Codify learnings into repeatable playbooks and reference architectures.
• Synthesize customer insights into product feedback and report outcomes to leadership.
