Job summary

Mastercard Inc. seeks a Director, AI & Data Governance to enable enterprise data governance through a federated stewardship model. You will lead data stewardship within selected business teams, help refine the governance framework, and translate policy into practical, repeatable processes.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience standing up stewardship programs, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and driving maturation of data governance practices across AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Operationalize data stewardship and embed governance activities into business processes.
• Stand up stewardship roles and onboarding for stewards.
• Translate governance policies into practical, actionable procedures.
• Influence stakeholders at all levels without direct authority.
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Lead data stewardship networks and provide guidance and escalation.
• Maintain business glossary terms and critical data elements in the data catalog.
• Drive adoption of data and AI governance practices through training and forums.
• Develop onboarding, playbooks, and tooling for governance activities.
• Contribute to governance framework improvements and maturity criteria.
