Canonical, publisher of Ubuntu, seeks a Developer Relations Engineer to engage with open-source communities and developer-focused organisations worldwide. This role blends engineering with diplomacy, solving technical problems and shaping developer experiences.

The candidate will participate in product meetings, communicate with communities across platforms, and collaborate across teams to raise the bar for Canonical's developer experience.

Formación

• Demonstrable passion for and engagement in open-source software.
• Experience developing and deploying software using Linux.
• Hands-on experience with Linux packaging (Snaps, debs, charms, rocks, PIP, containers).
• Understanding of current Linux packaging issues and trends.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in team product meetings from strategy to day-by-day development progress, offering insight and expertise.
• Maintain conversations with developer community members across IRC, social media, forums, meet-ups and more.
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams to establish common approaches and consistency.
• Help solve specific technical problems reported by users or colleagues.
• Contribute to technical documentation to meet developer users' needs.
• Work on technical articles, presentations or workshops.
• Identify opportunities and directions to improve the developer experience.
• Present at conferences, meetups or technical events.
