Job summary

LawnStarter is seeking a data governance leader who will own the data trust across products and teams. You will drive the roadmap, ensure data quality, and oversee a migration to Lightdash while building scalable governance. You’ll work hands-on, set standards, and enable self-serve analytics for a growing organization.

The role emphasizes owning the semantic layer, event tracking governance, and data security. This is a fully remote position with broad impact across LawnStarter's data platform.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the data roadmap across product, marketing, ops, and finance.
• Implement data quality and freshness monitoring across pipelines and reports.
• Maintain data lineage and impact analysis from production source to dashboard.
• Administer Lightdash including workspace structure, permissions, and rollout.
• Extend semantic layer definitions and enforce one-definition-per-metric across metrics.
• Govern Segment event catalog, guardrails, naming, and drift detection as tracking grows.
• Govern AI data readiness and ensure warehouse safety for AI tools and agents.
• Ensure data security and privacy with access controls and regular reviews.
