Job summary

Rockwell Automation, Inc. is seeking a Bid Specialist to lead the bidding process for Process Automation Solutions, including proposals and RFQs, from initial customer engagement through contract signing.

You will work with Sales, Solution Consultants, Project Management, Engineering, and suppliers to develop compelling technical and commercial proposals, validate solutions, and help maximize profitability during the bid cycle. The role reports to the Proposal Manager, Lifecycle Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in large industrial systems and automation solutions delivery.
• 3+ years in project execution related to industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the bidding process for Process Automation Solutions from initial customer engagement through contract signing.
• Develop and create proposal documents for automation solutions and evaluate customer RFQs to position Rockwell Automation competitively.
• Validate and endorse the technical aspects of proposed solutions, ensuring alignment with customer business goals, requirements, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solution Consultants, Project Management, Engineering teams, and third-party suppliers to develop accurate technical and commercial proposals.
• Execute bid approval requests, manage complex proposals, support customer discussions during the bidding phase, and identify risks to maximize proposal profitability.

Job Description

As a Bid Specialist, you will lead the bidding process for Process Automation Solutions, including solutions, services, design, manufacturing, and automation projects. You will be responsible for developing technical and commercial proposals, validating technical solutions, and supporting the sales team from the initial customer engagement through contract signing. You will work closely with Solution Consultants, Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and third-party partners to develop winning bid strategies and deliver proposals. And will report to PROPOSAL MANAGER, LIFECYCLE SERVICES.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the bidding process for Process Automation Solutions from initial customer engagement through contract signing.
• Develop and create proposal documents for automation solutions and evaluate customer RFQs to position Rockwell Automation competitively.
• Validate and endorse the technical aspects of proposed solutions, ensuring alignment with customer business goals, requirements, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solution Consultants, Project Management, Engineering teams, and third-party suppliers to develop accurate technical and commercial proposals.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a large industrial systems and automation solutions delivery business.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• 3+ years of experience in project execution related to industrial automation.
• Experience with Process Automation Solutions, including DCS, SCADA, PLC, HMI, Engineering, FAT, SAT, SIT, system architecture preparation, Drives, and other automation system components.
• Experience as a Proposal Engineer or Proposal Consultant.
• Prior DCS automation experience supporting solution design.
• Project management knowledge.
• Previous commercial experience within automation-related roles.
• Experience working with technical solution validation, proposal development, and commercial bidding processes for automation projects.
