AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable systems for a product-led engineering team. You will work in Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, GraphQL, MongoDB, and Aurora MySQL on AWS, covering everything from operational tooling to system architecture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend-focused software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
• Proficiency in MongoDB Atlas.
• Proficiency in Aurora MySQL on AWS.
• Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience with the Spring Boot framework.
• API development with GraphQL (Netflix DGS).
• Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance systems on AWS.
• Upper-intermediate English.

Responsibilities

• Take on low-priority engineering work, including compliance, maintenance, cost-savings, observability, experiment clean-up, and tooling.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.
• Contribute to system architecture and validate solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
• Partner with a Product Manager and fellow engineers to clarify requirements and perform mid-level design work, focusing primarily on coding, testing, and documentation.
