GFT Technologies in Colombia is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade backend services using Java 17+ and Spring technologies. You will drive batch processing with Spring Batch and ensure reliable data access with Oracle Database, Flyway migrations, and modern CI/CD practices.

You will leverage Bitbucket for source control, Jenkins for CI/CD, and Jira for task tracking while applying SOLID principles and clean code.

Formación

• Strong experience with Java 17 or higher (backend focus).
• Proven experience with Spring Framework and Spring Batch (2.x+).
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database and database migrations (Flyway).
• Proficiency with Bitbucket for source control and Jira for task tracking.
• Solid CI/CD experience with Jenkins.

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in enterprise application development, backend architectures, and batch processing solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java, Spring technologies, relational databases, CI/CD practices, and modern software engineering principles, while leveraging AI-powered tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve development efficiency and solution quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Framework technologies
• Develop and optimize batch processing solutions using Spring Batch to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
• Implement and maintain database access layers and SQL logic using Oracle Database
• Manage database schema changes and version control through Flyway
• Utilize Bitbucket for source code management, pull requests, and code reviews
• Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Apply SOLID principles and software engineering best practices to deliver clean and maintainable code
• Leverage prompt engineering techniques and LLMs such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to support development and troubleshooting activities
• Track and manage project tasks and deliverables using Jira
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to technical and architectural discussions

Requirements and Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java 17 or higher
• Proven experience with Spring Framework and Spring Batch (2.x or higher)
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database
• Experience with database migration and versioning tools, preferably Flyway
• Proficiency with Bitbucket for source code control and collaborative development
• Strong experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins
• Solid understanding of SOLID principles and clean code practices
• Practical experience using prompt engineering techniques with LLMs such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini
• Experience using Jira for task tracking and project management

Nice to Have

• Experience or knowledge of DB2
• Exposure to COBOL or Mainframe environments
