Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC is seeking an AI Software Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems over models, working with LangChain workflows and API integrations.

You will collaborate with engineering leadership to turn documented automation roadmaps into shipped, working systems, building on LangChain/LangGraph and OpenAI/Anthropic APIs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Create internal tools to reduce manual hours across design and development processes.
• Develop automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our CMS.
• Handle MCP server integrations as part of the AI stack.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Software Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
