Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an AI Software Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role; you will not train models but will build production systems on top of them.

You will work with engineering and delivery leadership to turn a documented automation roadmap into shipped workflows. You have 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js and hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and other agent frameworks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• Support MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
