Summary

We are seeking an AI Engineer with Ruby experience to help drive a strategic transformation from a traditional SDLC approach to an AI-enabled software development model. In this role, you will evaluate and implement AI-assisted development practices, leveraging Claude to accelerate delivery, improve operational visibility, and enhance planning and decision-making. You will own the solution design, development, mentoring, and the evolution of key platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from a traditional development lifecycle to an AI-assisted development approach.
• Utilize Claude to accelerate requirements analysis, solution design, implementation, and refinement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize backlog items, epics, and delivery initiatives.
• Design and develop enhancements within the HALO platform, built in Ruby.
• Create user-friendly representations of Jira data to improve visibility, reporting, and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain data models that consolidate Jira epics, backlog items, delivery metrics, and operational insights.
• Explore and implement the ingestion of operational and quality metrics into HALO, including production defects and delivery performance indicators.
• Enhance staffing and budgeting functionality within HALO, including support for T&M rates and engagement-duration planning.
• Provide technical and architectural guidance, and mentoring to team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, governance, and software quality through AI-enabled practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Ruby development.
• Hands-on experience working with AI-assisted development tools, particularly Claude.
• Strong background in software design, development, and solution architecture.
• Experience integrating data from systems such as Jira and transforming it into actionable business insights.
• Ability to evaluate and implement innovative development processes and methodologies.
• Experience working with backlog management, agile delivery, and software development best practices.
• Strong understanding of application enhancement, system integration, and reporting solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and technical leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in Ruby application development.
• Familiarity with operational metrics, delivery KPIs, and quality measurement frameworks.
• Previous experience driving AI adoption within software engineering organizations.
