About IDB Invest

IDB Invest is the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, dedicated to supporting sustainable development across Latin America and the Caribbean through private sector engagement. The organization finances, structures, and mobilizes capital for companies and projects that drive economic growth, resilience, and long-term development throughout the region. With operations spanning 26 countries, IDB Invest is strategically structured across four geographic regions and three industry verticals: Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Institutions, and Corporates. The organization operates under an evolving business model called “Originate to Share,” which expands its capacity to mobilize private capital and scale development impact across Latin America and the Caribbean. This model is supported by a $3.5 billion capitalization from shareholders, strengthening IDB Invest’s ability to originate high-quality assets, structure innovative financial solutions, and connect global capital with opportunities throughout the region. The approach enables IDB Invest to work hand-in-hand with clients, helping them design and implement solutions that unlock new markets, strengthen supply chains, and develop productive workforces. As part of the broader IDB Group, IDB Invest is committed to fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The organization works with private-sector clients across multiple spheres including workforce development and leadership, corporate sustainability strategy, value chain strengthening, product and service expansion for underserved populations, community engagement, and innovative finance structures.
