NHS Scotland is offering a Band 6 Trainee Social Worker Apprentice position (Annex 21) in NHS Highland. The role supports completion of an Honours Degree in Social Work while working in a multidisciplinary team and studying with the Open University.

The apprenticeship leads to registration as a Social Worker on successful completion. Starting salary is 65% of Band 6 with progression through Annex 21 milestones; extensive training, travel when required, and degree support are provided.

Formación

• Must be able to study the Honours Degree in Social Work by distance learning.
• Have literacy and numeracy skills.
• Eligibility to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) on the Social Worker Student part of the Register.
• Experience in social care environment (paid or unpaid) for at least one year.
• Good communication skills with potential to reach high standards in verbal and written communication.

Responsabilidades

• Draw on theory to support resilience and inclusivity; address inequalities and promote citizenship.
• Undertake outcomes-based assessment and care planning per NHS policies.
• Liaise with statutory, third and independent agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records per NHS Highland policies.
• Prepare reports under the direction of a registered Social Worker.
• Participate in internal and external Social Work and multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Carry out lead responsibilities under supervision of a registered Social Worker.
• Prepare thoroughly for professional supervision.
• Meet the requirements of the Honours Degree Social Work programme.
