Job summary

Comscore is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to ensure 24/7 SQL server operation, provide Level II support, and manage access and disaster recovery plans. Senior roles will develop security and capacity forecasts and long-range requirements.

The role involves maintaining production servers, performing installations, and coordinating with IT for patching and DBMS interoperation. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of database administration experience on relational database servers (e.g., Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL) in cloud and on-premise environments.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems; willingness to research answers and take ownership for learning.
• Good planning and prioritization skills.
• Effective communication skills; ability to succinctly convey technical information to senior management.
• Ability and willingness to provide after-hour and weekend support.

Responsibilities

• Provides level II support, troubleshoots and researches answers to unknown issues.
• Handles customized and more complex projects requiring coordination and project management.
• Maintains production servers and performs installations, administration and configurations of the production environment; keeps servers up-to-date with patches and updates.
• Performs enhancements to ensure optimal operation; monitors server health; partners with IT to resolve problems; ensures intercommunication of different DBMSs.
• Assists Development team with feasibility assessment and defining tasks.
• Stays abreast of technical developments and advances; trains and mentors new hires.
