Sovos is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own and optimize our enterprise SQL Server environments powering tax compliance for 100,000+ customers. You will lead incident resolution, performance tuning, and upgrade/migration efforts while mentoring junior DBAs and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You’ll apply AI-assisted tooling to enhance monitoring and automation, ensuring high availability and security of mission-critical databases.

Formación

• Strong knowledge of database systems and production environments.
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with SQL Server and understanding of internals.
• Fluent English, written and verbal.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Product/Tech teams.
• Comfort with AI-assisted tooling to improve ops.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as SME for critical database technologies and resolve incidents and performance issues in SQL Server.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions.
• Review query designs and schema changes with engineers for efficiency and scalability.
• Lead patches, upgrades, migrations with minimal downtime and plan backup/recovery strategies.
• Mentor and support junior DBAs and application teams on best practices.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline monitoring and root-cause analysis.
• Communicate health, maintenance status, and risks to stakeholders.
