Job summary

Insight Global is partnering with a leading global financial technology organization to recruit a Senior Backend Software Engineer. You will design, build, and evolve scalable backend services for payments, onboarding, settlement, FX, and financial transactions, spanning the full SDLC from architecture to production support.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with C#/.NET or another OOP language and willingness to work in a .NET environment.
• Experience building and supporting production-scale backend systems, including payments/fintech.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and system design.
• Cloud experience with AWS is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting financial transactions and payment platform functionality.
• Build and enhance systems related to onboarding, payments, settlement, foreign exchange, and business-critical financial operations.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and operational teams to deliver new capabilities from concept through deployment.
• Develop and maintain integrations with external partners and third-party platforms.
• Drive service reliability, monitoring, observability, incident response, and production readiness within assigned domains.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and design reviews.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to mid-level engineers.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives involving cloud infrastructure, service-oriented architecture, and platform transformation efforts.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle to improve productivity and code quality.
