Job summary

Bechtel in Iquique, Chile, seeks a senior field engineer for the Ujina Growth Project to provide project field engineering specialization, work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification, and safety and quality control on site.

You will inspect and track field purchases, support construction activities, review designs for constructability, and coordinate with Client and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with project standards.

Qualifications

• Professional with a complete understanding of the area of specialization and ability to solve problems creatively.
• Knowledge of company procedures, tools and software.
• Intermediate level of English (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction plans, sketches and programs; produce field change documents and information requests.
• Develop installation packages for assigned scopes; support and coordinate field activities.
• Inspect materials upon receipt and track field purchases.
• Monitor installation of materials and equipment to ensure conformance with drawings and specs.
• Uphold zero-accident safety philosophy and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Provide engineering to construction assistance.
• Review design/engineering documents for completeness and readiness for construction.
• Coordinate with design on constructability; prioritize outsourced work with Client.
• Interact with construction engineers and project members to foster solutions.
• Coordinate with Client and subcontractors on priorities and strategies.
