Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Constructibility Field Engineer in Iquique, Chile to support construction supervision and CM coordination on a major mining project. The role emphasizes adherence to drawings, specifications, and safety procedures on-site.

The engineer will work with contractors, Client CM, and Bechtel colleagues to ensure safe, compliant execution and timely issue resolution. Extensive field experience in large-scale industrial projects is required.

Qualifications

• Higher level technician or Civil/Execution Engineer in Electrical or Mechanical specialty with 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Or supervisory/construction management professional with 12–14 years of relevant work experience in large-scale projects.
• Right to live and work in country of assignment without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate construction activities with contractors and Client CM.
• Review contractor construction schedules and resource diagrams for adherence.
• Assess proposed construction methods for adequacy and safety.
• Monitor work methods to ensure safe, design-compliant execution.
• Verify installation of materials/equipment per drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Support risk management with permits, controls and corrective actions.
• Promote zero-accident philosophy through leadership and site inspections.
• Assist in interpreting engineering documents and supplier documentation.
• Coordinate engineering solutions with CM and verify technical compliance.
