BairesDev is seeking a Software Engineer (Apache Kafka) to design and operate production-grade Kafka clusters and streaming applications from a 100% remote setup. You will build real-time data pipelines, implement robust schemas with Avro, and collaborate to set streaming standards across global engineering teams.

The role requires deep Kafka expertise, experience with Kafka Streams and Confluent, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

4+ years in Data or Software Engineering or streaming.
Proven experience with real-time data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
Experience designing at-scale event-driven architectures.
Hands-on with Kafka Streams, Confluent, and Avro for serialization.
Strong English communication.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage production-grade Kafka clusters and streaming applications.
Develop real-time data integration pipelines using Kafka Connect and Kafka Streams.
Optimize cluster performance, topic configurations, and resource utilization for high-scale environments.
Implement robust data schemas and versioning strategies using Avro and Confluent Schema Registry.
Collaborate with engineering teams to define event-driven standards and streaming best practices.
Ensure system availability and data integrity through proactive monitoring and disaster recovery planning.
