Job summary

Sonnedix is seeking an O&M Supervisor for the Librillo project in Tal Tal, Chile, to oversee field operations, maintenance, and commissioning handover. The role requires hands-on management of safety, performance, and contractor coordination in a demanding, on-site setting.

Based at Librillo, you’ll monitor BESS performance, manage spare parts and budgets, and ensure compliance with Chilean regulations and Sonnedix standards. Travel within Chile may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related discipline.
• Experience in renewable energy operations and maintenance, ideally involving BESS, energy storage or Solar PV plus storage.
• Technical knowledge of Li-ion battery systems, BMS, EMS, PCS/inverters, transformers and LV/MV equipment.

Job description

Join our Operations team and play a key role in the performance and reliability of the Librillo Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). As O&M Supervisor, you will oversee on-site operations and maintenance activities, coordinate specialist contractors and ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements, Chilean regulations and Sonnedix standards. This is a hands‑on, field‑based opportunity for an experienced energy professional who enjoys working in a technically demanding environment. You will supervise preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, support commissioning and operational handover, monitor critical BESS performance indicators and help manage maintenance plans, suppliers, spare parts and OPEX/CAPEX budgets. The position is based at the Librillo project in Tal Tal and requires availability aligned with operational needs, as well as occasional travel within Chile.

Desirable skills and experience

• Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or a related discipline.
• Experience in renewable energy operations and maintenance, ideally involving BESS, energy storage or Solar PV plus storage.
• Technical knowledge of Li-ion battery systems, BMS, EMS, PCS/inverters, transformers and LV/MV equipment.
• Strong commitment to health and safety, with experience in LOTO procedures, high-voltage environments and BESS-specific risks.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, conducting on-site testing and carrying out fault diagnostics or Root Cause Analysis.
• Strong technology fluency, with confidence using SCADA, EMS/BMS platforms, CMMS or eMaint, remote monitoring applications and digital tools to analyse performance, manage maintenance activities and support data‑driven decisions.
