Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Python AI Solution Engineer to design and deliver production AI and LLM applications, shaping architecture and ensuring scalable systems. You will lead Python-based RAG and agent work, integrate APIs, and partner with client technical leadership to steer delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in software engineering with hands-on AI experience, deep Python expertise, and strong knowledge of LangChain, Hugging Face, FastAPI, and modern ML frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with production AI/LLM delivery.
• Strong Python 3.11+/3.12+ proficiency.
• Deep experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, and PydanticAI.
• Hands-on with Hugging Face models, transformers, and tokenizers.
• Familiar with Python tooling: uv, venv, Poetry, and code quality tools.
• Solid ML stack knowledge: NumPy, pandas/Polars, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras.
• Experience implementing vector search and RAG infra (FAISS, Qdrant, etc.).
• Building and deploying AI APIs with FastAPI/Uvicorn; containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Data infra experience: PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka; English at least B2.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver production-ready AI and LLM apps in Python.
• Develop RAG pipelines and AI agent architectures.
• Connect APIs to enable AI-driven capabilities and services.
• Deploy and operate AI systems across cloud environments.
• Ensure secure, scalable integration across platforms and services.
• Collaborate with client technical leadership on project direction and architecture.
• Evaluate trade-offs and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Prototype AI concepts using appropriate frameworks and tools.
• Support experimentation and model tracking through the lifecycle.
• Translate business requirements into reliable technical implementations.
