EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Data Scientist with deep knowledge of Large Language Models and Python to create AI-driven chatbot solutions for targeted use cases. The role emphasizes NLP, responsible AI, and data analytics to guide product and engineering teams in building high-quality conversational agents.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hallucination mitigation, compliance, and guiding development teams, while shaping prompt engineering and model evaluation practices

Formación

• 5+ years of hands-on data science or applied AI experience.
• At least 1 year of experience leading development teams.
• Strong command of Large Language Models, including OpenAI APIs on Azure.
• Advanced Python programming for integrating, orchestrating, and refining AI workflows.
• Track record of building AI agents using function calling to engage with external tools and databases.
• Solid grasp of hallucination prevention methods to preserve chatbot precision and dependability.
• Firm understanding of Responsible AI and compliance best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in NLP and Conversational AI creation.
• Fluent English communication at B2 level or above.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with product, analytics, and engineering to design and improve a shopping assistant chatbot.
• Shape and fine-tune prompt engineering approaches to raise chatbot quality.
• Build LLM-driven agents that interface with APIs, databases, and external services via function calling.
• Protect chatbot dependability by applying model evaluation methods to reduce hallucinations.
• Use A/B testing frameworks to assess and progressively elevate chatbot performance.
• Embed Responsible AI and compliance principles to ensure ethical operation.
• Carry out exploratory data analysis to surface insights for the data engineering team.
• Advise cloud engineering on infrastructure requirements for AI-powered deployments.
